The Cleveland Cavaliers were the first team to make a deal this morning, just hours before the trade deadline. In somewhat of an unexpected move, the Cavaliers traded forward Earl Clark, center Henry Sims and two second round draft picks to Philadelphia in exchange for center Spencer Hawes. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports first reported the news.
Hawes will play tomorrow when the Cavaliers travel to Toronto tomorrow when they take on the Raptors. Hawes tweeted the following in response to the trade:
Time for the next stage of my career, and I can’t wait to get started in Cleveland. #goCavs
