Final Outcome

The Cavs looked strong throughout the game, got great performances from Luol Deng, Dion Waiters, and especially Anthony Bennett, and got a strong home win, 109 – 99, against Sacramento. The Cavs played with a lot of energy all game, and never let the Kings get back in the game.

Key Play of the Game

With 4:40 left in the game, the Cavs found an open Anthony Bennett who nailed a three-pointer to extend the lead to 15, effectively stemming the tide of the Sacramento comeback and sealing the game. Bennett was the X-factor to the Wine & Gold win, but Dion Waiters, and Luol Deng also played tremendous games.

Wine & Gold MVP

I am so happy to type that Anthony Bennett is my Wine & Gold MVP. The UNLV rookie finished with 19 points and 10 boards, recording his first career double-double, scoring a career high in points, and even playing tough defense against a strong Sacramento interior.  He was also instrumental in providing a strong punch from the second unit. Although he had a rough night at the free-throw line, he was also extremely efficient from the field, making 6 – 9 shots, and all three of his three-point attempts. This is especially exciting considering how poorly Bennett’s has been shooting all season; it really looks as though he has weathered the storm, and is really coming into his own as a player.

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Cavs travel to Detroit tomorrow to face the Pistons, who are on a three game winning streak of their own. The Cavs will face another tough interior of Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond, and will look to keep their hot play going as they make a playoff push.
