After missing a game due a work visa issues, Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Sergey Karasev will starting tonight in preseason action as the Cavaliers take on the Detroit Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena. Waiters will miss the game due to a hip contusion. Tip off is at 7 P.M.

Also of note is that Cavaliers forward Alonzo Gee will start tonight at the three. He will still be limited to 15 minutes of action tonight as he works back from a sore hamstring, but it may be a sign that Coach Mike Brown favors the incumbent (Gee) over a player he coached in Los Angeles (Clark) for the lone starting spot up for grabs.

As for Karasev, Brown considers the Russian more of a shooting guard due the size of small forwards in the NBA today.

It is also unclear when Waiters will return from the contusion.
