When the NBA Draft finally arrives on Thursday, a minimum of 10 future NBA players will be in attendance. According to ESPN, top Cleveland Cavaliers targets Nerlens Noel and Alex Len have been extended invites by the NBA. The other invited players are Victor Oladipo, Otto Porter, Anthony Bennett, Trey Burke, Ben McLemore, C.J. McCollum, Cody Zeller and Michael Carter-Williams.
All of the invited players are expected to be lottery picks in this year’s draft. As many as six are in the running to be selected by the Cavaliers at No. 1 overall and, after early assumptions of Noel being selected, it has become a bit hazy to who will be selected at the top spot. According to sources inside the Cavaliers organization, former players (and current employees) Zydrundas Ilgaukas and Vitaly Potapenko are pushing for the Cavaliers to select Len, the seven-footer from Maryland.
As usual, general mangers from across the league were polled to determine the 10 players selected to be in the Green Room on Thursday night. Notable names kept off the list include Shabazz Muhammad, Kelly Olynk and Steven Adams. However, the NBA usually adds players late as the draft approaches, and they will likely do so again this year.
