Milwaukee Bucks (22-18) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (11-32) Preview

Congratulations to Kyrie Irving for being the sixth-youngest player to ever be named to an All-Star game; only the first of many.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are on an emotional high right now after beating the Boston Celtics Tuesday behind Irving’s 40 points. Another factor to add to that: they welcome in two new players to the roster, Wayne Ellington and Marreese Speights.  The trade did not become official until Thursday, but since they did not miss Thursday’s practice due to injury, head coach Byron Scott said they are available tonight.

It has already been announced that Josh Selby will be assigned to the Canton Charge.

Wayne and Speights will be counted on to provide production off the bench, which has been a problem all year. In Tuesday night’s victory the Cavs’ bench only scored 11 points; seven of which came from Luke Walton.

With the All-Star game less than a month away, the Cavs will look to head into the break on a high note. They have won back-to-back home games for the first time this season, and have a chance to extend their streak to three as they welcome in the Milwaukee Bucks. This will be the fourth and final time the Cavs and Bucks face-off this season, with the Bucks leading the season series, 2-1.

The Bucks come into tonight’s game on a four-game winning streak.

In the three previous matchups, Monta Ellis has had his way with the Cavs’ defense, including a season-high 37 points back on Dec. 22.

Along with Ellis, the Cavs will have to watch out for ErsanIlyasova. Ilyasova signed a big contract extension in the offseason and hasn’t lived up to the expectations. However, in the past two games he has averaged 27 points and 15 rebounds.

C.J. Miles missed Tuesday’s game with an illness, but participated in shoot around on Friday.
