Kyrie Irving As Uncle Drew

If you haven’t watched or heard about Uncle Drew from Kyrie Irving’s Twitter feed or the Pepsi Max commercial, you definitely should. The short five-minute documentary on the transformation of Kyrie Irving into Uncle Drew, a sideline poaching, grey-haired man who, at first, seems to have no basketball skills whatsoever.

Written and directed by Irving, his character came into play after his “nephew” in a pickup basketball game on a playground in New Jersey had a friend fake an injury. This left Uncle Drew a perfect opportunity to show off his basketball skills to the “young blood.”

A camera crew was there to shoot the dominance of the crippling Uncle Drew, but players thought they were there filming his nephew. It’s not clear who was all in on the prank, but it was said on that none of the players in the game knew about the Uncle Drew stunt.
