Cleveland Cavaliers rookie point guard Kyrie Irving was selected as a participant in the 2012 Taco Bell Skills Challenge according to The Plain Dealer.
Irving, who was the only rookie honored as a participant, joins defending champion Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs), John Wall (Washington Wizards), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Deron Williams (New Jersey Nets).
The competition will include a two-round obstacle course involving dribbling, passing and shooting stations. The event is also timed. The last Cavalier to participate in the event was Mo Williams back in 2009. Williams is now playing with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Fellow Cavalier rookie Tristan Thompson will also be joining in on the All-Star Weekend fun with Irving in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, Feb. 24.
The 2012 All-Star activities kick off on Feb. 24 in Orlando, Fla., and end on Feb. 26.
