Have you heard about the NBA All Star rosters?

The East features a starting lineup with LeBron, Wade, Howard, Rose and Carmelo. Doesn’t that excite you? Or does it bore you as it bores me? I can’t believe fans take the NBA All Star game seriously anymore. Sports writers say the fans have made it a popularity contest. They are 100% right. In fact, fan popularity has even swayed coaches.

Both All Star rosters have mostly house hold names. Yeah, they play hard. But so did many other players. But time after time, these same players are brought in year after year. What makes it worse is how bad the actual game is. No defense what so ever. In fact there is little organized offense either. Just guys taking the ball creating for themselves. Like the Pro Bowl, the NBA All Star Game is a joke.

A competitive game with different players who have earned there All Star status on the court would make the game better. But the NBA will continue to bring the stars in proclaim them to be All Stars. I dont deny that they have talent. Its just I get the feeling that Andy is not playing in the game because he isnt a big enough star.

The NBA All Star game is simply a gathering of stars. A pick up game just for fun for them. But it’s not fun to watch. And I dont believe I will watch it. Im sure I can find something more meaningful to do then watch a stars pick up game.
