The Cavaliers put up a much better effort against the Timberwolves then against the Raptors. The Cavs beat Minnesota 98-87. The team that showed up tonight was a far cry then the one on display a few nights ago. This team had energy and played hard on both ends of the floor.
Antawn Jamison led the way with 22 points and six rebounds. The only downside to that was he was 10 of 22 from the field. Jamison can be a great player. But he cannot take that many shots a game. Andy came on strong with double-double. He ended with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Overall, a good performance from the man in the middle. Kyrie Irving also had good night with 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists. The problem with Irving tonight was seven turnovers. He definatly need to take better care of the ball.
The bench bunch had some good stats too. Ramon Sessions, Alonzo Gee, and Daniel Gibson each had 11 points. Tristan Thompson had a quiet night with only two points and two rebounds. Samardo Samuels also was quiet with three points, one rebound and five personal fouls.
It was great to see the team bounce back after a really tough loss to the Raptors for the second time this season. This is the kind of Cavs team that needs to show up more often then not. Back to back games or not. Long road trips or not. The best teams give constant effort. The Cavaliers truly are capable of doing great things. They simply need to pull it all together and learn how to play hard consistently. When they do, who knows what they are capable of.
