Former Duke point guard, Kyrie Irving, has a bit to be proud about. Being selected at the number one position in the draft cannot be half bad, but watching his old teammates take it to some China hoopers must have been a bit gratifying. Sure, he may have wanted to be somewhere in training camp practicing plays with his new franchise, the Cleveland Cavaliers, but something has got to give. No one has their cake and eats it too. (That saying never made too much sense to me either)
Irving must surely be proud of Austin Rivers, who scored 18 points in his Duke/China debut. He headed to China as well, of course separately from the team, to show his support for his alma mater.
