Tarence Kinsey was arrested this morning in Tampa, Florida for driving under the influence. Supposedly he was having a hard time staying in his lane and was speeding.
Kinsey was first spotted heading north on Howard Avenue in a 2005 Bentley heading to Interstate 275. He was drifting in his lane and accelerated to 70 mph in a 55-mph zone on the interstate, police say.
An officer stopped him near the interstate and Dale Mabry Highway. Kinsey’s eyes were watery and bloodshot, he was unsteady and smelled of alcohol, police say. He failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test.
I still can’t believe how professional athletes still decide to drive drunk. If I made six figures a year I would get a taxi, have a driver, or at least make one of my boys drive. If you can drive a Bentley then you can afford a driver. Another thing is if you are drunk and driving why the hell are you speeding? Have you heard of cruise control? Where do you have to get to that fast at 3:30 in the morning? Kinsey might have some legal issues now, but the Cavs could easily release him and he would be back to fighting to get back into the league.
