Leon Powe Tears ACL

Good news for the rest of the East and bad news for the Celtics, Leon Powe has a torn his ACL and will end his season. This news only gets worse for the defending champs and will hamper their chances at winning the East, let alone the NBA. I figured Powe could relive his magical playoff ride from last season and help fill the void KG left. Too bad for the Celtics that he only got to play a little bit in the first series before he got injured. Now they lose another big man for the post season amd the road to the Finals is looking easier by the day for the Cavaliers.

Already without an injured Garnett for possibly the remainder of the playoffs, the Celtics have lost backup forward Powe for the duration because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee.

“That is just a tough injury for a kid who has done everything right,” coach Doc Rivers said after practice on Tuesday. “He played 3 minutes with a torn ACL. That says so much about Leon Powe the person.”
